Lucien Clergue meets Picasso in Arles (France) in 1953. Their friendship will end with his death in 1973. He will assist to many intimate moments of his public and private life with his family, at home, at the bullfight, in Cannes or Mougins, but also in Nimes and Arles (France).

Lucien Clergue was the first photographer to present a thesis with photographs only, no hand writing, writing with light only. The photographer is tracking the mystery between the very small and the very big, travelling from the beaches in the Camargue (South of France) to the deserts of White Sands or Death Valley in the US.
